From Mother Eve to Our Mothers, and Every Woman in Between

Mother’s Day is a special day as we celebrate the lives of those wonderful women who have birthed us, raised us, taught us, and cared for us throughout our lives.  Whether they be our mothers, aunts, grandmothers, and sometimes even our teachers or other women who have had a positive influence on us, we are sure to let them know that they are loved and appreciated.

As we think about and celebrate these special women, however, we tend to forget those who lived before us.  Our pioneer women from the scriptures.  Personally, sometimes I tend to forget how many amazing women, many of them mothers, there are in the scriptures.  We often hear about the men who have been noble and strong…who sacrificed much to help bring to pass the work of God. In the video below, missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints remind us that Mother’s Day isn’t just for thanking those who have been good influences on us today, but also the kind-hearted and loving mothers who have blessed many lives since Mother Eve.
