At age 19, I became the only member of my family to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although I had been welcomed beautifully, I could feel that I was different from the others. In many ways, I felt alone because I didn't have much in common with them in terms of religion and background.
VISITORS ARE WELCOME BUT DO THEY FEEL WANTED?
Far too often when investigators or less-actives come to church and they smell or don’t look like the other members, the members put up a sign saying “Visitors welcome, but not wanted.”
