This year marks the bicentennial of the First Vision of Joseph Smith. This miraculous event in history has clarified so many facts about God the Father and Jesus Christ that the world was in darkness about for so long. Now, thanks to a simple prayer that was uttered by a young boy 200 years ago, we have answers to many questions about the gospel of Jesus Christ.
It’s clear that God has a vision for His Church at this time. His prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, shared a glimpse when he said, “If you think the Church has been fully restored, you’re just seeing the beginning. There is much more to come.”
“Understanding who we are influences how we choose to live our lives,” said President Nelson. “What we choose to do here will determine the kind of life we have throughout all eternity. We are never living just for today.”
This is where the moment climaxed for me. After all that had happened today, beginning with expecting nothing more than to feel honoured to be part of the security team for President Nelson and his travel companions, and receiving more than I ever could have dreamed or imagined, this was the moment I will never forget...the moment that will forever be etched in my mind and heart.
